Iranian Banks to Expand into Belarus

A senior official at the Export Bank of Iran has declared that three Iranian banks will set up a bank in Belarus. According to him, the bank will be launched in a bid to meet the financing required for traders in Iran and Belarus. According to Natsbank of Belarus, as of July, 1st, 2009 the banking sector in Belarus included 31 banks with 303 branches. Out of this figure, 25 banks include participation of the foreign capital, including eight banks - with the 100 percent foreign capital.
