Belarus increased output of fat-and-oil products

During January-July period of 2009, Belarus increased fat-and-oil production volumes as compared to the same period of the previous year, declared the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat).

According to Belstat data, during January-July of the current year, the production volumes of vegetable oils in the country totaled 39.798 tonnes, an increase of 24.3% compared to January-July of 2008.

The organizations of Belgospischeprom concern increased vegetable oils production by 3.9% to 15.619 tonnes, juridical entities without the departmental affiliation - by 13% to 9.028 tonnes. The enterprises of regional executive committees increased their production by 54.3% to 10.419 tonnes, enterprises of executive committees of towns - by 48.2% to 2.551 tonnes. Organizations of the department of bakery products of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food produced 2.181 tonnes of vegetable oils, up 4.1 times.

During January-July period of 2008, Belarus produced 18.272 tonnes of mayonnaise, an increase of 5.9% compared to the same period of the previous year. The enterprises of Belgospischeprom concern produced 6.645 tonnes of the product, up 5.4%, juridical persons without departmental subordination - 8.508 tonnes, up 9.9%.

In January-July of 2009, margarine production in Belarus increased by 11.1% to 9.601 tonnes compared to the same period of the previous year. The enterprises of Belgospischeprom concern produced the main volume of margarine products - 7.949 tonnes, up 7.4%. Juridical persons without departmental subordination produced 1.652 tonnes, an increase of 33.5%.

According to the Statistics Committee, as of August 1, 2009, reserves of vegetable oils totaled 2.312 tonnes (40.7% of the average monthly production volumes), margarine products - 545 tonnes (39.7%), mayonnaise - 636 tonnes (24.4%).
