Belarus completed the mass harvesting campaign of grains

Belarus completed the mass harvesting campaign of grains, declared Vladimir Grakun, the head of the department of pant growing of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

As of August 31, agricultural organizations of the country harvested grains and leguminous plants (without maize) throughout 2.22 mln ha. Agrarians still have to harvest grains throughout nearly 3% of the planned areas. Brest oblast almost completed the harvesting campaign, and harvested grains throughout 98% of planned areas. Agricultural economies of Minsk kept the leadership of grain production and oblast produced 2.11 mln tonnes of grains.

The average yield of grains and leguminous plants in the country totaled 37.3 c/ha. The general grain production of agricultural economies of Belarus reached the level of 8.29 mln tonnes. The expected total harvest is 8.4-8.5 mln tonnes, a decrease of 300-350 thsd tonnes compared to the previous year, marked the specialist. Bad weather conditions, dominating gin the country during the year, caused the decrease of grain production.
