Belarus looks forward to visit of Vatican's state secretary

Minsk, August 31, Interfax - Vatican's Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone may visit Belarus this year, Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic affairs of the Belarusian cabinet Leonid Gulyako told the press on Monday.

"It is possible that the second visit of the Secretary of State of the Vatican Cardinal Bertone will take place already this year," he said.

The question of an agreement between the Vatican and Belarus is expected to be discussed during the Cardinal's stay in Minsk.

Speaking of the possible visit of the Pope to Belarus, Gulyako said: "I do not rule out that these questions may be discussed during the cardinal's visit but so far there is no exact information that this visit will take place."
