Bishkek gearing up for Belarus President official visit

The Kyrgyz authorities are getting ready for the official visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Lidia Imanalieva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Belarus, told a press conference dedicated to the Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan on August 27, reported Belta.

She underlined that the visit is expected to be held on October 11, right after the summit of the CIS Heads of State in Bishkek. "The visit of Alexander Lukashenko will be held not within the framework of the summit that is scheduled for October 10, it will be a full-fledged official visit of the President of Belarus to Kyrgyzstan. After the summit is over and the guests leave Bishkek, we will start working with the Belarusian delegation," Lidia Imanalieva said.

The programme of the visit includes an opening of a joint Belarusian-Kyrgyz venture producing MTZ machines.

According to the Kyrgyz Ambassador, one of the highlights of the forthcoming visit will be the Days of Belarusian Culture in Kyrgyzstan timed to the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Bishkek.

"We hope that the visit of the Belarusian President to Bishkek will become a significant step in the advancement of the Belarusian-Kyrgyz cooperation," Lidia Imanalieva underlined.
