Belarus harvested 5.2 mln tonnes of grains
As of August 11, Belarusian agrarians harvested 5.2 mln tonnes of grains, or 65% of forecasted crop, declared the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
Agrarians harvested grains and legumes (without maize) throughout 1.4 mln ha, or 60.4% of planned territory.
To date, yield of grains and legumes totals 37.6 c/ha, up 6.93 á compared to the previous year. In all regions of the country yield exceeds last year indexes.
Mass harvesting campaign started on July, 26.
Harvesting campaign is to finish by August, 17-18.
In 2008, Belarus plans to harvest a record grains crop - 8 mln tonnes against 7.2 mln tonnes in 2007.
