Belarus imposes visa restrictions in response to US unfriendly actions

Under conditions of negative one-sided actions of the US leadership, Belarus has to take adequate action, Spokeswoman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Maria Vanshina said commenting on the US decision to extend the list of Belarusian officials, who face restrictions in entering the USA.

"In response to the unfriendly actions of the United States, Belarus will impose relevant visa restriction against certain categories of American officials," she stressed.

Besides, Vanshina noted that restrictive measures does not help coming to understanding and developing the bilateral relations. The Belarusian foreign ministry preserves its principal position about its openness for mutually respectful and equal dialog with the USA.

Moreover, the ministry, as a move to present an example for its American counterparts, will one-sidedly ease visa regime for US citizens coming to Belarus on private or business trips in order to promote interpersonal contacts. "The motion is an act of good will and confirms the friendly nature of the Belarusian foreign policy," Vanshina stressed.
