Syria, Belarus discuss aspects of industrial cooperation

Syrian Minister of Industry Fouad Issa al-Jouni discussed on Thursday with visiting Belarus Deputy Minister of Trade Ivan Stepanenko aspects of industrial cooperation,the official SANA news agency reported.

Both sides conferred on the possibilities of cooperation in manufacturing machines, cars and tractors in addition to establishing joint investment and industrial projects.

Jouni stressed Syria's care to establish joint projects and marketing their products, noting the possibility of utilizing Belarus' equipment in cement and iron factories in Syria.

He called on Belarus companies to present offers in the mentioned fields to manufacture spare parts for cement and iron factories as well as to develop cooperation in the electronic and textile domains.

For his part, Stepanenko expressed his country's readiness to share new industrial and investment projects to contribute to strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
