Lukashenko: Co-operation with India a top priority

MINSK, Aug 16 (NNN-BELTA) -- Belarusian Head of State Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated President Pratibha Patil of India on the country's Independence Day, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

President Lukashenko noted that co-operation with India remained one of the top priority guidelines of Belarusian foreign policy.

"We consider your country as a reliable partner in the trade-economic and scientific branches. I am convinced that Belarusian-Indian relations in all spheres have significant prospects for the further development," he said in a congratulatory message Wednesday.

"Joining our efforts we will be able to use in full the potential of interaction."

The president also confirmed his readiness to receive President Pratibha Patil in Belarus for a state visit.

in another message, President Lukashenko congratulated South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun on the occasion of the country's Liberation Day, the presidential press service told BelTA.

He expressed confidence that traditionally friendly relations between Belarus and the Republic of Korea would show further development of all-round co-operation for the benefit of the two peoples.
