Iran to establish bank in Belarus

The Export Development Bank of Iran

Iran and Belarus are to finalize a deal to set up a joint bank in Belarus and the issue will be raised in a bilateral economic meeting.

A Belarus trade delegation, headed by Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister, Viktar Gaisenak, is currently in Tehran to discuss economic relations with Iran.

Given that bank transactions are one of the main obstacles in the way of effective trade exchanges, three Iranian banks of Refah, Saderat and Export Development have decided to set up a conglomerate bank in Belarus with Bank Refah holding the largest share.
