Belarus ready to expand trade ties with Iran, Gaisenak

Belarus Deputy Foreign Minister Viktar Gaisenak said on Monday that his country is ready to expand all-out trade and economic ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Gaisenak, heading an economic delegation, is in Tehran to hold talks with Iranian officials.

He said in a meeting with the Iranian deputy commerce minister and director general of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, the Belarus government is keen to upgrade its economic relations with Tehran along with political ties.

"We try to remove obstacles in the way of trade relations with Iran, increase the volume of trade to an acceptable level, and are determined to boost the current amount of trade to dlrs one billion," he added.

The Belarus government is interested in establishing Iranian bank in its soil as soon as possible, he noted, adding, "We are ready to cooperate with Iran in this respect."

According to Gaisenak, certain governments attempted to made restrictions in the way of economic cooperation between Iran and Belarus, but his country will never yield to their wish.
