Belarusian Supreme Court accepts criminal case of alleged Polish spies

MINSK. AUGUST 9. INTERFAX-WEST - The Supreme Court of Belarus accepted a criminal case of four citizens of Belarus and one citizen of Russia, who are accused of spying for Poland, a source within the court told Interfax on Thursday.

"The case was accepted for review by the Supreme Court," the source said.

The case will be reviewed by the court's military affairs college at a closed hearing.

In July, the Belarusian KGB said it had arrested a number of individuals and charged them with spying for Poland. Interfax reported at the time that the suspects were charged with treason.
