Gross grain yield exceeded 2 mln tonnes in Belarus
Gross grain yield exceeded 2 mln tonnes in Belarus, informed Deputy Head of central crop production directorate of Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Vladimir Kuratnik. According to him, it is up 167.000 tonnes of grain from the previous year.
According to the specialists' estimations Belarus has a good harvest of grain this season - 2.93 tonnes per hectare. The Head of the State set a task for farms to increase daily rates of harvesting to 6-7% under the condition of favourable weather. Such rates will let to finish grain harvesting till the 25th of August - 1st of September (depending on the regions).
In general to date 697.000 tonnes of grains have been mowed down (31% of harvesting area).
