Latvia on Wednesday declared a Belarus diplomat persona non grata, giving him 24 hours to leave the country.
The Latvian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the first secretary of the Belarus embassy was accused of "actions inconsistent with diplomatic status".
Belarus police searched the home of a Latvian embassy official, who was accused of distributing pornography, during the early hours of July 25. Latvia lodged a complaint with Minsk, saying the search violated the terms of the 1961 Vienna Convention and demanded an explanation.
