Belarussian communists outraged by Japanese exhibition

MINSK. Aug 30 (Interfax) - The Minsk City Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus (CPB) is preparing a complaint about a Japanese exhibition being housed at the Museum of the First Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party (RSDRP).

"Belarussian communists are outraged that the Museum is housing a Japanese exhibition that has nothing to do with the history of the world communist movement," the Committee's First Secretary Valery Drako told Interfax on Wednesday.

The exhibition is a "blasphemy and ridicules the feelings of millions of communists throughout the world," deputy chairman of the National Assembly's Commission for International Affairs and Links with the CIS Sergei Kostyan said.

"This historic place in the center of Minsk is visited by delegations from various countries, and it is difficult to imagine how they can accept that the House that is famous because it is a birthplace of the communist movement, is exhibiting clothes and items of household goods from a nation of the East," Kostyan said.
