Turkmenistan buys Belarus machinery for construction of artificial lake in Karakum desert

Subsidiaries of the Ministry of water economy of Turkmenistan received a consignment of 20 powerful MAZ-55/605-230-024 auto dump-trucks with the capacity of 20 tons each. They will be used in construction of a Turkmen lake in the center of the Karakum desert. Let us remind you that under a decree signed by President Saparmurat Niyazov this May, the Ministry of water economy was authorized to conclude a contract with Yarov company (Belarus), an official dealer of the Minsk automobile plant, for the supply of 100 MAZ dump-trucks and spare parts for them.

As the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports referring to the Ministry of water economy and the Ashgabat office of Yarov company, the next consignment of 40 MAZ trucks will arrive in the republic during this week. As a matter of fact, over 1000 MAZ trucks are currently being successfully operated in various sectors of Turkmenistan's economy.
