Belarus sells 5 Su-25 attack planes to Azerbaijan

Information about deals of Belarus on the world arms market in 2009 appeared in the UN register on ordinary arms on July 26.

According to Belarus mass media, last year Belarus bought no arms and military technique qualified as ordinary weapon. It sold arms to Azerbaijan, Uganda and Sudan.

Thus, 23 T-55 tanks were supplied to Uganda, five Su-25 attack planes and nine Pion 2C7 203 mm self-propelled howitzers to Azerbaijan and three Su-25 attack planes to Sudan. Weapons are produced in Russia. The amounts of the contracts are not specified.

In 2008 Azerbaijan received three Pion 2C7 203 mm self-propelled howitzers. Belarus supplied Azerbaijan with 41 T-72 tanks in 2006 and 19 T-72 tanks in 2005.
