Beltelecom, Synterra ink transit deal

Belarus' national fixed line operator Beltelecom has announced the signing of an agreement with Russian operator Synterra concerning the transit of traffic via Belarus. DMeurope reports that a dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) link with 10Gbps capacity will be used to transfer traffic from the mainland of Russia to its enclave in the Kaliningrad region. As part of the agreement Beltelecom also plans to provide transit lines to Russian operators Rostelecom and TTK during the course of 2010.
