No More Obstacles to Develop Syria-Belarus Relations"

Presient Bashar al-Assad stressed the need to develop Syria-Belarus relations since they share common denominators laying a sound basis for mutual understanding.

The remarks came during President al-Assad's meeting on Monday with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vladimir Andreychenko and Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Anatoly Rubinov at the Belarusian Parliament.

Talks dealt with Parliamentarians' role in enhancing cooperation between Syria and Belarus.

President al-Assad said "there are no obstacles any more hindering the development of Syrian-Belarusian relations."

He hailed Belarus constant stances towards the just Arab issues, stressing the importance of continuing coordination and consultation at international forums.

President al-Assad added that Syria and Belarus are passing through similar political conditions, pointing that the past stage proved both countries' ability to withstand and develop despite the pressures.

In turn, Chairman Andreychenko said "Syria is Belarus main partner in the Middle East, pointing to the importance of developing regional cooperation serving the interest of both countries.
