Belarus harvested the first million tonnes of grains

Agricultural economies of Belarus have harvested the first mln tonnes of new crop grains, declare the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the country.

As of July 31, agricultural economies of the country harvested 1.12 mln tonnes of grains.

Agricultural economies of Brest oblast take the leading place, harvesting 424 thsd tonnes of grains. Gomel oblast harvested 282 thsd tonnes of grains, Grodno - 234 thsd tonnes, Minsk - 192 thsd tonnes, Mogilev - 30 thsd tonnes, Vitebsk - 23 thsd tonnes.

Agrarians harvested grains and leguminous plants (without maize) throughout 306 thsd ha, which totaled 13% from the general harvesting areas. Agricultural economies of Brest oblast take the leading place, harvesting 29.9% of planned areas. Gomel oblast harvested 23% of planned areas, Grodno - 14%, Minsk - 7.9%, Mogilev - 2%, Vitebsk - 1.9%.

The average yield in the country totaled 38.89 c/ha, an increase of 3.49 c/ha compared to the same date of the previous year. In Grodno oblast the average yield of grains totaled nearly 47 c/ha.

Belarus faces rather favorable weather for grain harvesting campaign.
