Situation in Belarus is stable, Interior Minister says

The situation in Belarus is stable and is under complete control of state bodies and security agencies, Interior Minister Vladimir Naumov told reporters on July 4.

According to him, the law-enforcement bodies of Belarus will take every effort that the festive programmes should be carried out as scheduled. "From July 3 to July 6 the interior bodies operate under heightened alert status. We are confident that all festive events will go according to the schedule, reported Belta.

The Interior Ministry will step up security efforts and foresee other possibilities to protect order," Vladimir Naumov said.

The Interior Minister said that increasing security efforts is a coercive measure. The Ministry has enough forces and means to perform its law-enforcement duties efficiently. Vladimir Naumov also hopes that citizens will be aware of what goes on around and will report their concerns immediately.
