Belarussian police detains Polish spies: official

Belarussian police has detained five people who were allegedly collecting information for Polish intelligence agencies, Interfax news agency reported on Sunday.

Those five former soldiers were collecting information dealt with the condition of the joint Russian-Belarussian air defense system, Belarussian State Security Committee deputy chairman Viktor Vegera was quoted as saying.

The suspects include a former military intelligence head at a Belarussian air and missile defense brigade. A Russian suspect had surrendered to the Russian Federal Security Service, Vegera said in an interview on the Belarussian ONT TV channel.

There's no immediate confirmation or comments available from Polish side.
