Lukashenko recommends Bush to focus on domestic problems

MINSK, July 13 (Itar-Tass) -- U.S. President George Bush should focus on domestic problems rather than on funding of the Belarussian opposition, President Alexander Lukashenko said during a Friday visit to the Belarussian Metallurgical Plant.

"Bush is making a lot of statements. I think he has much more problems than us. The dollar inflation has become disastrous, and that is where the money should go," he said in comments on the intention of the American administration to enlarge the allocations for the Belarussian opposition.

The U.S. president should also resolve the problems of "Iraq and other conflict zones they have created, instead of scrutinizing countries whose opposition he wants to aid," Lukashenko said.

As for financial aid Belarussian non-governmental organizations are receiving from abroad, he said, "such organizations will be immediately liquidated in case of any illegal actions. Anyone who illegally brings money to Belarus will bear the consequences."
