IRNA

Iran and Belarus will hold the seventh meeting of their Joint Economic Cooperation Commission in Tehran from August 12-15.

The two countries will explore ways to expand trade ties and find new strategies to bolster mutual economic ties.

According to the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), given high potentials of the two sides, their trade exchanges are at a low level.

Iran and Belarus are able to meet each other's needs and prepare ground for each other's capabilities to export their products to a third country or other parts of the world, TPOI reported.

The two sides will also study the signing of a preferential tariff agreement, cooperation in customs affairs, establishment of Iranian bank in Belarus, the observation of standards in their products, transportation, and joint investment during the four-day meeting.

On the last day of the meeting, the Iranian minister of commerce and the Belarussian minister of industries are scheduled to ink a memorandum of understanding on expansion of trade and economic cooperation.
