Belarus: mass harvesting campaign of grains and legumes started

According to Ministry of agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, mass harvesting campaign of grains and legumes has started earlier than usual due to favorable weather conditions.

As for July 17, harvesting area of legumes was 154.800 ha (6.5% out of the plan). In total, across the country grains milling totaled 425.300 tons at average yield of 27.6 c/ha.

According to the plans of government, Belarus plans to harvest 7.2 mln tons of grains in 2007 against 5.9 mln tons in 2006 (at forecast of 6.9 mln tons).
