Belarus authorities search Latvian diplomat's home

Belarus law enforcement authorities searched an apartment of a Latvian diplomat in Minsk on July 25, which the Latvian Foreign Ministry called a violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention.

The ministry has prepared a protest note to the Belarus Foreign Ministry, and the Belarus ambassador to Latvia has been invited to the Latvian Foreign Ministry to explain what has happened.

The Foreign Ministry said Belarus authorities searched the Latvian diplomat's apartment at 3 a.m. and seized some of the diplomat's belongings.
