Russia, Belarus agree on gas transit fees

A gas row between Russia and Belarus is over as Gazprom and Beltransgaz agree on transit fees in the current year, Gazprom`s CEO Alexei Miller said during a press-briefing in Moscow on Friday.

He added that terms of the contract had been arranged during a phone conversation with Beltransgaz officials.

Miller added that Gazprom owed nothing to Minsk for the transit of its gas to Europe as it has been paying according to rates set out in the 2006 agreement-$1,45 per 1,000 cubic meters.

The 2006 agreement is yet to be amended and signed shortly.
