Russia's Gazprom CEO sees better future with Belarus

MOSCOW June 25 (Reuters) - Russia's gas export monopoly Gazprom is close to signing the new gas transit agreement with Belarus and hopes there will be no repetition of the recent crisis, Gazprom CEO said on Friday.

"We will hope that in the gas sphere we will have better ralations with Belarus," Alexei Miller told a news conference after the company's annual shareholders' meeting.

Miller said Gazprom's negotiations with Ukraine's Naftogaz over a joint venture proposed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin have reached an advanced stage with the two sides discussing the range of assets they could contribute for the JV. (Writing by Gleb Bryanski, editing by Toni Vorobyova)
