Poland Can Last Weeks Even Without Gas Transit From Belarus -Min

WARSAW -(Dow Jones)- Poland can keep its customers fully supplied with natural gas even if Belarus completely stops transiting Russian gas, although the cutoff would complicate the situation for German customers, Poland's Deputy Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak, who holds the economy portfolio, told a press conference Wednesday.

"Even if gas stops flowing from Belarus and the Yamal pipeline, deliveries from Ukraine and reserves in storage facilities will be enough to keep gas flowing without disruptions to Polish private and industrial customers," he said.

"Such a situation can continue for several weeks without any risk of a disruption to supplies. But undoubtedly a lack of transit via Yamal will very much complicate the situation for German customers," he added.

Russia Wednesday cut gas supplies to Belarus by 60% as a dispute over unpaid bills escalates.
