Gazprom pledges full gas supplies to Europe regardless of Belarus cutoff

Despite Belarus's decision to block gas transit through its territory, Russian state-run gas giant Gazprom will completely satisfy European and Kaliningrad customers' gas demands, employing ways of alternative supplies, including transits via Ukraine and Lithuania, gas from underground storage facilities and from the spot market, an official Gazprom representative said on Tuesday.

"We have already received confirmation for Ukraine's [gas transport] system readiness from Kiev. We plan to use gas from underground storage facilities and possibly spot markets. Kaliningrad customers will be provided with gas via Lithuania. All the customers will receive their full gas volume," Sergei Kupriyanov told Rossia 24 TV channel.
