Belarus keen on extending artistic ties with Iran

TEHRAN -- Belarus is eager to boost artistic ties with Iran, Pavel Latushka the country's Culture Minister mentioned at an Iranian art exhibit in Minsk, according to a press release issued by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

The exhibit, which will run until June 23, is being held by Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations organization (ICRO) in the Iranian Embassy in Belarus in Minsk.

According to the press release, Latushka proposed establishing an Iran-Belarus artists association and also announced preparations by the Belarus Ministry of Culture to hold a cultural week in Tehran.

Latuska pointed to "Today's Iranian Lady", a photo exhibition focusing on Iranian women's activities in the social and cultural fields, as an influential event and applauded the social aspect of Iranian women's lives.

The exhibition is a cultural response to the negative image of Iranian women propagated in the West, director of the Iranian Photographers Center (IPC), the main organizer of the exhibit, previously told the Persian service of the Mehr News agency.
