Gazprom, Belarus fail to negotiate agreement

ST. PETERSBURG, June 19 (Itar-Tass) -- Gazprom's talks with Belarusian Energy Minister Alexander Ozerets on gas supplies have failed to produce an agreement, the company's CEO Alexei Miller said on Saturday.

Miller said he could not say whether the talks would continue on Sunday, June 20.

Asked about the results of the meeting, Miller said, "Nothing. We parted. I don't know where they went."

Commenting on Minsk's statements regarding Gazprom's debt of 200 million U.S. dollars for gas transit, Miller said, "Using football terminology, it's an abortive attempt to create an offside position."
