Ukraine, Belarus to discuss trade, economic cooperation in Chernihiv on June 2

The Ukrainian-Belarusian joint inter-governmental commission on trade and economic cooperation will hold its 16th meeting in Chernihiv on June 2.

Ukrainian First Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov and Belarusian First Vice Prime Minister Sergei Sikorsky will chair the meeting, the Ukrainian government's press service reported on Monday.

The participants in the meeting will discuss Ukrainian-Belarusian cooperation amid the financial and economic crises, setting up joint production, and interregional and border cooperation. After the meeting, they are expected to sign an agreement and take measures required to implement a memorandum between the Belarusian government, the National Bank of Belarus, the Ukrainian government, and the National Bank of Ukraine on deepening bilateral trade and economic cooperation during the global financial crisis.
