Putin says Belarus remains a priority in Russia's foreign policy

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Belarus remains a priority in Russia's foreign policy, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at a meeting in Moscow with his Belarusian counterpart Sergei Sidorsky ahead of a session of the council of ministers of the Russia-Belarus Union State.

"The Belarusian direction of Russia's foreign policy has also been among the priorities and it remains such now," Putin said.

"We realize that tackling social issues on the basis of economic achievements is the greatest priority," he said.

Putin said that the Russian leadership will continue paying primary attention to the issue.
