Outgoing Belarus Ambassador bids farewell to Iran's FM

Belarussian outgoing Ambassador Leonid Rachkov at the end of his tenure bid farewell to Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here Wednesday.

In the meeting Mottaki referred to the growing trend of bilateral ties between Tehran and Minsk saying, "Political determination of the two countries' leaders for expansion and consolidation of ties has been implemented and now relations between Iran and Belarus has reached a reliable point."

During the last several years Iran and Belarus have both proved how two countries can manage to have excellent political, economic and cultural relations with respect to each others' interests and mutual understanding and how they can consider new horizons and survey new angles for broader bilateral cooperation while effectively strengthening peace and stability in the region, Mottaki continued.

Rachkov, on his part presented a report on his 10-year tenure in Tehran, saying, "The Belarussian leaders believe in importance of maintaining bilateral ties with Iran and our country's relation with Iran is planned to be a long term and strategic one."

He expressed hope that the two countries' bilateral trade level could reach one billion dollars annually.

The Belarussian outgoing ambassador concluded, "I will never forget the good memories during my tenure in your country about the Iranians' friendly behavior and hospitality."
