Russia-Belarus Joint Military Exercise Under Way

(RTTNews) - Russia and Belarus are jointly conducting command and staff exercises in which 300 Russian servicemen and 40 aircrafts are taking part. The June 17-25 Union Shield 2006 exercises in Belarus, plans to work out operational capabilities in a joint regional bloc within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. The Moscow Times reported that Military observers from over 40 countries had been invited to attend he exercise.
