Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has left Minsk for an official visit to Moscow, the Belarusian presidential press service said on Friday.

"President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will be on an official visit to the Russian Federation on May 7-8," the press service said.

During his visit, Lukashenko will participate in an informal meeting of the heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), as well as take part in the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of Victory Day.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said earlier during an official visit to Minsk that the two heads of state would meet in Moscow during an informal summit.
