Iran Calls for Further Increase in Mutual Cooperation with Belarus

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President's Chief of Staff Esfandiar Rahim Mashae'i in a meeting with Belarusian Envoy to Tehran Victor Rybak called for the consolidation of ties and further expansion of mutual cooperation between the two countries.

Noting that Iran and Belarus enjoy friendly relations, he reiterated that the two countries share common viewpoints on international issues.

During the meeting on Saturday afternoon, Mashae'i stressed that Iran and Belarus pursue national interests through promoting bilateral ties.

He added that the current world situation necessitates the two countries to increase mutual cooperation and ties in different fields.

Referring to the agreements and projects, Mashae'i said the agreements should be implemented with appropriate speed so that new projects could be defined and existing potentials could be used in bilateral relations.

He also underlined the resolve of both governments to promote ties.

Victor Rybak, for his part, said that Iran and Belarus share many commonalities and there is no limitation for the promotion of bilateral ties.

He also called for accelerated implementation of joint projects and increased cooperation between the two states.
