Belarus and Azerbaijan plan to sign an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in science and technology.
Open.by reports that the draft agreement has been prepared. His signing is scheduled for early June. The document will be signed during the visit of Belarusian delegation to Baku in early June this year.
The sources also said that several documents on cooperation between scientific institutes and centers of Belarus and Azerbaijan during the National Exhibition of Belarus, which has recently been held in Azerbaijan. In particular, the Belarusian State University signed a protocol of intent to cooperate with Silvesberg scientific and engineering consulting company. The parties intend to develop cooperation in the field of biofuel production, introduction of microwave technology in agriculture, production of sorbents for the collection of oil spills. In addition, Belarus State University has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Baku State University. The document envisages exchange of students, graduate students and teachers. An agreement on scientific-technical cooperation between the Institute of Physics, National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Physics and Institute of Physiology, National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
In general, the scientists of the two countries plan to develop cooperation in laser physics, energy, nano-materials, computer modeling of new generation elements and other scientific fields, according to sources in the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus.
