Belarus recalls ambassador from Kyrgyzstan - FM

MINSK, May 13 (Itar-Tass) - Belarus has recalled its ambassador from Kyrgyzstan for consultations, Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Savinykh told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

"Ambassador Viktor Denisenko has been recalled for consultations. The embassy's personnel have been assigned to the Interior Ministry's staff," the diplomat said.

In his words, "this is a forced measure. And it is temporary." "We took this step for security reasons and due to the threat to the life of our personnel. Extremist elements, which are not controlled by anyone, may pose a threat. As soon as the situation normalises, Belarusian diplomats will resume their duties in the host country," Savinykh stressed.
