Iran, Belarus agree to extradite criminals

Iran and Belarus have reached an agreement that allows the two states to regulate the extradition of criminals and develop judicial cooperation.

The deal was signed between Belarusian Justice Minister Viktor Golovanov and his Iranian counterpart Gholam-Hossein Elham in Minsk.

Elham says the deal needs a yes vote from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to come into force, IRIB reported.

"We can maintain bilateral cooperation in the international arena. The desire of both countries for independent development creates a very good foundation for promoting relations in the international arena," he said.

Golovanov, for his part, praised the rapid development of the Belarusian-Iranian relations in judicial affairs.
