Byelorussian Ambassador Praises Relations with Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, May 7 (acn) Economic and trade relations between Cuba and Belarus are increasing, said on Tuesday the Byelorussian ambassador in Havana, Igar I. Paluyan.

In declarations at the end of his diplomatic work in Cuba published on Wednesday by Granma news daily, Paluyan said that Cuba should take advantage of his country's high technological development while Belarus should learn from Cuba's experiences.

Paluyan also spoke of the possibility of complementing these ties with resources from Latin American nations and he said that, for example, Belarus is currently installing three plants to assemble tractors, trucks and other equipment in Venezuela.

He noted that in the case of tractors, it could benefit Cuba and other countries of the region that would save money in the concept of transportation.

"I think that the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA) is the appropriate model to develop this type of cooperation," the diplomat stressed.
