Azerbaijan and Belarus conclude 10 interstate agreements on various fields

Azerbaijani and Belarus Presidents held one-on-one meeting in Baku. The meeting emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation and its contribution to further development of mutual relationships.

President Ilham Aliyev and his Belarus counterpart stressed importance of establishing and developing relations in political, economical, humanitarian spheres. During the meeting, Ilham Aliyev highly evaluated prospect of bilateral relations. Aleksandr Lukashenko said it was his first visit to Azerbaijan expressing satisfaction with the current relations between the two countries. Belarus President said Azerbaijan is a country with dynamic development and Belarus people live freely in Azerbaijan as the latter do in Belarus. "Unfortunately some states are jealous of our relations. There are good friendship and cooperation relations between our countries".

10 intergovernmental agreements were concluded between Belarus and Azerbaijan following the large meeting of the Delegations.

First, Azerbaijani and Belarus Presidents concluded agreement on friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus.

The agreements "On 2007-2010 cooperation programme between Azerbaijan and Belarus Academy of Sciences", "On Cooperation between State Committee on Securities under the President of Azerbaijan and Belarusian Finance Ministry"," On the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarusian National Banks", "On cooperation in the management of state property and privatization between State Committee on Management of State Property and Belarus Property Committee", "On cooperation in standardization, metrology , and accreditation between State Agency on Standardization, Metrology and Patent of Azerbaijan Republic and Belarus State Committee of Standardization" Cooperation in veterinary sphere between Azerbaijan and Belarus", "On cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus in protection of plants and quarantine", " Mutual protection of confidential information between Azerbaijan and Belarus", On social protection and labor activity of Azerbaijanis in Belarus and Belarus citizens temporarily living in Azerbaijan".
