Iran, Belarus Cooperate on Natural Disasters

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad submitted a bill to the parliament on cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Belarus in prevention and reduction of natural disasters and other unexpected incidents.

Once the bill is approved by the parliament, it will become binding.

Pointing to the necessity of the two countries' cooperation in the said regard, the president has said in the introduction of the bill that Iran-Belarus cooperation and coordination in the aforementioned area seems necessary considering the two countries' age-old cordial ties and the usefulness of the exchange of scientific-technical information and data in preventing natural disasters and unexpected incidents and also taking into account that Tehran-Minsk cooperation in the prevention and reduction of natural disasters could serve the two nations' welfare and security.
