Tehran, Minsk to turn threats into opportunities: Ahmadinejad

Visiting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Tuesday Iran and Belarus can turn enemies' threats into opportunities for development of bilateral cooperation.

President Ahmadinejad was speaking in a meeting with Chairman of Belarussian Chamber of Representatives Vladimir Konoplev.

"Resistance of independent states, including Iran and Belarus, has weakened arrogant powers," Ahmadinejad said adding that Belarus does not need the US support. Belarussian people can meet their needs without the help of any bullying power, he reiterated.

The Belarussian chairman, for his part, voiced his country's support for Iran's political stands.

He further stressed the importance of President Ahmadinejad's remarks on resistance against superpowers and opposition to the global unilateralism.

President Ahmadinejad arrived in Minsk Monday on an official two-day visit. He is planned to wrap up his visit later today (Tuesday).
