Iran, Belarus seek industrial co-op

The Iranian President and the Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister have discussed the promotion of bilateral cooperation in the industry sector.

Vladimir Semashko, who is also Belarus's Industry Minister, met for talks with President Ahmadinejad in Minsk.

Ahmadinejad described Tehran-Minsk relations as stable and called for mutual cooperation in the industry sector.

The Iranian President said Iran and Belarus are serious about boosting bilateral ties, adding both countries should try to remove all obstacles to promote cooperation and increase joint ventures investments.

Semashko for his part said Iran has advanced technical potential and that his country is ready to make use of Iran's expertise.

He called for the development of mutual cooperation in the industry, energy and transportation fields.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Belarus Monday to pay an official visit to the country and hold talks with Belarusian officials.
