Iran's President To Visit Belarus

May 18, 2007 -- Officials in Minsk say Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad plans to make a two-day visit to Belarus starting on May 21.

Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Popov said the agenda includes a wide range of issues related to bilateral relations.

In November, Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka met with the Iranian leadership in Tehran and offered support for Iran's controversial nuclear program.

Belarus also has sold Russian-made conventional military equipment and spare parts to Iran in the face of Western criticism.
