Belarus-Russia gas transit deal delayed

MINSK (Thomson Financial) - A deal for Russia to acquire a stake in the Belarus pipeline network that carries Russian gas to Europe will not be signed today as planned due to continuing differences on the pact, officials said.

'Negotiations are continuing today and their results will be announced when the signature takes place,' Belarus government spokesman Alexander Timoshenko told Agence France-Presse, without naming a new date for signing of the deal.
