MINSK, BELARUS, (SANA)-

Assistant Secretary General of the Bath Arab Socialist Party Abdullah al-Ahmar said on Saturday the new Nazism practices in Palestine and South Lebanon are similar to those perpetrated in the second world war by the German Nazi.

Al-Ahmar wrote in a word at the end of his visit to the monument of the Belarus village of Khatin, that massacres committed and are still perpetrated by the new Nazi forces embodied by the Israeli occupation of the Arab territories in Palestine, Golan and south Lebanon are similar to the world war II massacres in Belarus and other countries invaded by the German Nazi."

He added while we are standing with respect before those citizens sacrifices, we emphasize that people's battles to get their liberty and independence as well as defeat the occupiers are not realized without a price being paid.

There have been three great tragedies in this republic since the turn of the century. During World War II (called the Great Patriotic War) Hitler turned all of his-vengeance on the Belarusian nation. There is a monument now standing outside Minsk, which stands where the former village of Khatin once stood. All of the people in this village were gathered in a barn, which was set on fire, and the homes were burned to the ground. There was one survivor to tell the tale and a statue stands in the place where he found his son who had been shot by the German army. At this site there are lights and earth from hundreds of villages, which were destroyed in this way during a two-week blood bath by the Nazis. There are a least 25 sites created to remember the concentration camps which contained between 30,000 and 200,000 people each. In the final toll, Belarus lost one third of its population to Hitler during a reign of terror to match no other in the history of Europe. It has been a popular belief of political leaders that the country that owns the "heartland" or corridor between Europe and Asia can own the world. This is Belarus.

Al-Ahmar and the accompanying delegation also met Saturday the Syrian community in Belarus to brief them on the situation and developments in the Arab region as well as the motion of construction in Syria.

Al-Ahmar started an official visit to Belarus on Thursday during which he was received by President Lukashenko and senior officials in Belarus.
