Lukashenka approves Agreement on EurAsEC Integrated Currency Market

MINSK. Alexander Lukashenka, President of Belarus, has approved the Agreement on Co-operation in Organising Integrated Currency Market of the EurAsEC Member States signed on 25 January, 2006, in St.Petersburg, Kazakhstan Today reports citing Belarusian presidential press service.

The Agreement aims at development of the EurAsEC Integrated Currency Market and provides, in particular, rights to conduct currency purchase and sale transactions between the banks of the EurAsEC member states on the territories of other EurAsEC member states on conditions of a legal regime that is not less favourable than the regime provided for commercial banks - residents of those states.

The implementation of this agreement will promote the enlarged use of national currencies to serve foreign economic activities and for the formation of a common financial market of the EurAsEC member states.
